Heavenly Help Experiencing the Holy Spirit in Everyday Life By Sarah Bowling The cover never caught my eye but the title did. I love reading about the Holy Spirit and Angels and the Heavenly Realm. I wanted to learn more about the Holy Spirit since in my younger years the Reverends never talked of Angels or Holy Spirits. You young people really get a lot more of what the true God and that there is Angels and Holy Spirit WOW. We always heard that God would punish you if you sinned there was no repentance for us. Sarah writes with passion about her (our) God. As we learn through scriptures , stories and questions she has written for us to think about the veil of the mysteries of God and the Holy Spirit are being open up to us so rather than fear God we want to embrace him and learn more about God and the Holy Spirit. The more you learn about God and the Holy Spirit it’s like you hunger for more just a little isn’t enough anymore. As you read Sarah journey with God in her book. You’ll want to have a journey with the Holy Spirit and God too. I really loved this book. I recommend it highly. Have a Happy journey with the Holy Spirit!!!!!!!! Counted with the Stars Out from Egypt #1 By: Connilyn Cossette I love the cover of the beautiful Egyptian lady really is unique it’s like she is overseeing the land of Egypt. The title is actually what caught my eyes first I had to find out what Counted With the Stars was all about. This is a story of Kiya she’s a young Egyptian girl sold into slavery by someone that should have loved her not sold her. Why would someone do that knowing how most slaves is treated? As you travel through the pages of this beautiful book back in the times of Mose you will see the pages start to come alive. Maybe you’ll even hear the sounds of a whips hitting the slaves or hear the screams that’s on their lips, feel the sun so hot you can barely stand it or cries of many of the slaves to their God that are being slaughter for no reason other than the Masters or overseers feel they should be punished for their God Yehweh. These poor slaves were worked to death very few lived to be 35-40 yrs of age. As you’ll see Kiya’s Mistress always tried to find a reason to humiliate Kiya in front of everyone. Only a couple of girls became Kiya friends or are the something other then what they seem? The plaques started and Kiya wonders who is this strange God that has such power that the magic can’t touch him and the God’s that are all around her inside and outside of the palace can’t touch him either or take the plaques away. Will Kiya learn of this God that she can’t see and start to trust him over her own God’s that she can see? This was a page turner for sure I hated to see it end can’t wait for the second book to come out. A must buy if you like these kinds of books although it is fiction it really has some truth to it. I never read any of her books but I’ll add her to my list of authors I like. I received this book free from Bethany House for an honest review. I also find Christian people can tell other people you do wrong but can’t tell you to your face to help them realize what you are doing wrong or maybe the other person misunderstood what you are saying. The bible says to talk to that person first then if it doesn’t stop talk to the Pastor or group leader. Like fellowshipping with God. Abundance for every good work, this book has Godly standards for you to follow. No Looking Back Angus said as he was jogging he saw an antelope come diving across the road the antelope stopped looked back if the antelope never stopped the skilled hunter would have never been able to shoot and kill him. Which made Angus think as long as you keep looking back you can’t go forward. So I stopped and thought of myself as long as I keep looking back at the problem I have I can’t go forward because that past hurt is just that the past it will not let me go on and live as God wants me to live in faith. So I laid the problem at God’s feet and said that’s it, I am done. So as I read through this book I find the Devotions and prayers has helped me let go and move on in faith with God. I recommend this book highly. If you need to go forward and leave the past in the past you forgive that person and pray for them go on and let God handle the rest. Read this book it really is great. Eating in the Middle A Mostly wholesome Cookbook By: Andie Mitchell I love the cover front and back. The pretty lady looks happy with her work that she seems to take pleasure in cooking. The cover wasn’t the only thing that drew me to this cook book I have been taking off and putting weight back on for a long time. When I saw a little of what this cook book was about I wanted it. I am almost down to the weight where I want to maintain one more pound and I will be there so this sounded like the book for me. The Parmesan- crusted chicken tenders with buttermilk ranch dressing sounded out of this world yum yum. Then Andie has the recipe for chicken and mushroom out of this world (only I bet she cooked it better than me since she is a professional cook). Since both my husband and I love chicken these chicken recipes was for us. Andie had turkey burgers with apple, caramelized onions and goat cheese sounds great we both love turkey too so another great recipe. The recipe that won me over was the lemon-herb fish with crispy oven fries. There are certain foods I cannot eat Drs. Orders like potatoes of any kind so I figure I can always find a great vegetable to eat with my fish. There are salads in this cook book can’t go wrong on salads and couscous is another great change instead of rice since I don’t like rice but I love couscous. The sweet section looks yummy; we just eat sweets once in awhile since my husband is diabetic. Anyone can find a lot of recipes in this beautiful cook book to satisfy their taste buds. I recommend this book highly you won’t be sorry you bought it. If these recipes help keep me at my weight I want it will be my favorite cook book I received this beautiful cook book free from blogging for books for an honest review. The Cover us really cute with a raccoon in a trash can, a child and mother in the flower garden with all bright colors to attract a child. It’s really so cute for a young child to look at and ask questions about. I just love this cover so cleverly done. This book talks about bees, Peacocks, roosters just about all kinds of animals and what they are busy doing. It’s kind of a poem book but teaches a young child that even animals are busy doing things throughout their lives. The pictures throughout this cute little book captivate a child’s attention while you are reading this cute story to them. It also reminds us that God created animals different from humans but they still have a job to do, to survive. Humans and animals alike still love to cuddle up to their babies. This is just an adorable little book to read to your child and show them how wonderful and special God’s creations are to him both human and animal. I recommend this book highly for a young child, although I must say I really liked reading this book to relax and go back in time as a child. Would A Worm Go On A Walk? By: Hannah C. Hall Illustrated by Bill Bolton I loved this cover a cute little worm with re glasses with red tennis shoes walking among the flowers that are beautiful. But does a worm have feet and legs? Throughout this cute book there are cute pictures with bright colors to catch a child’s eyes. The bright colors and cute pictures will keep a child interested in the book while you read to them. Cute pictures with all kinds of animals in grass or water, cars the pictures are bright and so very cute I loved to look at them. This cute little book is about how God made humans and animals different but yet they are uniquely made too by God our creator. For example: “IF a worm had legs and feet would it go for a walk if you could lead it down the street? Would he wear his tiny tennies if he had four worm- sized feet? Each story has different things with different animals or a lot of animals. This one of the cutest books for children I have seen. There’s different questions with different answers shows us how God gave the animals with unique qualities and special strengths. God made each animal so very unique and humans as well. Now that shows you how awesome our God is doesn’t it. What a wonderful way for a child to learn that God knows what he is doing even when we don’t understand things at the time. I think a child will giggle as a parent reads each cute little story to them. I’ll also bet that child will point at a picture and look up at you with innocence and ask very important questions that you never even thought of. Children are so inquisitive and get smarter all the time. I recommend this book highly because I really loved this story at my age which is quite old I must say, I have great grand children. I think I’ll give this book to one of my grand children for their child. Although don’t tell anyone I’d love to keep it and read it over and over makes me feel young once again. Let God’s Word Empower Your Prayers A Devotional By: Stormie Omartian I love the cover with blues, white, yellow, and greens surrounding the one lovely white flower. It tells me a story of peace and love. I wanted to be able to pray more powerful prayers so I felt blessed when I could get this new prayer book of Stormie’s and read it. It is what I was looking for to read in order to pray a more powerful prayer for my Church, Life Group and Prayer Group. On page 21 was really a great read the title “Be Bold to Ask”. It is of Jabez prayer to God to bless him and enlarge his territory, to keep him from harm and free from pain and God granted his request (1 Chronicles 4:10) believe it or not it is the only time Jabez showed up anywhere in scripture. His brief mention here in the Bible left a lasting impression. Now When We Have to Wait (page 25) is probably one of the hardest things we as human have to deal with, we expect God to answer yesterday but he answers in his own time and sometimes he is quite and doesn’t answer at all. The scripture that she uses is Genesis 15:1-2 then Stormie tells a story of the scripture and after each story she gives a prayer you can use. I recommend this book highly. A must have for any Prayer Warrior inside of you. You’ll be very glad you bought this book. I received this beautiful book from Harvest House publishers for an honest review. Behold The Man Jerusalem Chronicles By: Brodie & Brook Throne The cover of this beautiful book made me tear up as it took me back to thinking of what Jesus did for each and every one of us. The horrible beatings he took, the crown of thrones place on his head so mean, his beautiful face so beaten and swollen each stripe he bearded our sins he took to the cross NOT his ours, the cross he carried to be hung on and the nails in his hands and feet actually just thinking of that made my hands and feet hurt with an awful jabbing pain in them. As tears rolled down my cheeks, it made me love Jesus and give him Glory as he deserves. Think about that for a few minutes would anyone else love us that much to die that horrible death my answer was quick to come NO one would die that kind of death for someone. He gave us a second chance at everlasting life Praise Jesus. Why was he hated so much because the people that hated him were crooks in plain English, they cared more about money and wealth and positions in power and they had to destroy the very man that had no sins and loved unconditionally, forgave and healed people? So as you go on the journey of Jesus last days on earth you will discover some of the people that hated Jesus because he stood out as a great man and they didn’t like that. You’ll explore interaction with the governor Pilate, Pilate’s wife Claudia and her love for her crippled son, than there is Centurion Marcus Longinus caught between loyalty and love for Claudia. After each encounter Jesus will their lives ever be the same. One thing I think we should think about is if we faced Jesus how we would have been. I myself keep praying if I get prosecuted for being a Christian let me be strong and stand up for Jesus. He died for me should I not die for him?? This is a must have book it is written very well and gives you an insight into Jesus last days. I recommend this beautiful book highly. I also have the first two books of this Jerusalem Chronicles When Jesus Wept and Take This Cup very good books. This is definitely a page turner. I couldn’t put it down. This journal has 52 weeks the weeks are not dated so you can star in the middle of this year and finish next year or when every you want to star and in what week you’d like to start for example: Week 22 No Words or week 26 Praying Sacrificially many more beautiful pages to journal on. There are 143 pages to write your prayers, your thoughts then at anytime you can return to this journal and reflect on what you wrote and what prayer you might have written and see if your thoughts are the same or have you grown closer to God and now your thought and prayers maybe on a different level because of your relationship with God has changed. Each reading is a Bible verse, a full explanation on how you can relate to God. The water colored pictures of plants and other is beautiful and is at the start of each section. They are called Contents: Request, Gratitude, Lament, Intercession, Faith Repentance and Awe. Just the contents made me love this journal Ok the pictures too. I have to say Zondervan did a great job on this book I love it, you will too I can say it with confidence. I recommend it highly. Radical Spirit 12 Ways To Live A Free And Authentic Life By: Joan Chittister I really had a hard time getting into this book so I truly have to tell you I didn’t read it all the way through. Sorry I thought this would be a book I could just read and ponder on but I had a hard time getting into it. It took me a long time to read very far so my review may not be the best again I am sorry for not getting further into the book. I know there are 3 segments that helped Joan she tells the segments in the introduction part of her book. Maybe you will find them helpful. As you go on the journey with Joan as she helps you find your quest for new freedom and wisdom. You’ll read of the spiritual seekers that the soul has many masters. Apostle Paul says “People are slaves to whatever masters them.” For example anger, addiction, and fear then try to break the chains to whatever it is. We know it is ongoing every day of every minute. I believed if I could have had more time I might have been able to get into it or maybe I just am not as fast at understanding as you are. Again I think it could be a good book if I just had a little more time. Enjoy it I am sure you will love it. Joan is a good author. I put the ISBN to help you find the book faster. Vibrant India Fresh Vegetarian Recipe By: Chitra Agrawal The food on the cover looks good enough to eat and the vegetables are bright and colorful. The back of the cover is just as pretty. I’m the type of person that has a hard time trying food from other countries unless I know the person cooking it. I don’t like spicy foods so no matter what country it is from I won’t eat it. This all vegetables recipes so I may be ok with this kind of foods to try at a restaurant. The shredded carrots and lentil salad looks great. There are a lot of pictures in this book that is colorful and looks good. Vegetarians would love this book. In the front of the book it has a list of recipes also tells where to buy ingredients and equipment. I am not sure if the ingredients come in bulk or if you can buy just a little to see if you like them. I love the history of her family, her city. Well if you read the Bible you see God uses the most unlikely people to help Him with His plan to glorify His name. A lot of times I don’t read the introductions to the book because I want to dig right in to the book. Really take time to read the introduction I did for whatever reason and I was so glad I did, it’s very interesting!! We all cry out we want meaning and hope in this fallen world of ours. We as Christians know we can call out to God for anything and He is there for us. Mr. Dillon tells how we can find what our soul cries out for do you want to be a doer or a talker? Some of us get scared if we go out of our comfort zone. So read this book and see how Dillon will show you “if you give you surely will gain”. The story on page 13 brought me to tears and I thanked God for helping raise my two children. In my heart I know He helped watch over my two beautiful children which are adults now. If you ask yourself how did the world get this way and why wasn’t something done, then this book is for you. See the problems and solutions through brand new eyes as Justin takes on a whole new journey in a selfish plan to change our world. I recommend this book highly.
