The Stream Refreshing Hearts & Minds Renewing Freedom’s Blessings By James Robison I love the cover blue is a calming refreshing color and it being water is even more calming to me. I can feel the cool water and the bubbles really a unique cover with the bubbles and water on the back of the cover too. I love chapter 21 America and the Poor Luke 10:30-37 it’s about the Good Samaritan one of God’s commandments is care for the poor, for widows, and for orphans. Jesus loved and cared deeply for the poor. In both the Old and New Testaments it says the poor NOT the lazy that doesn’t want to work but have everything handed to them even God dislikes the lazy. There is a difference but our government seems to give to the illegal NOT the poor, they give to the lazy not the citizens that want jobs and to work but also need a little help while looking for jobs they get nothing. I love the way James says we need to trust more in God then money, or other people. Our country is being destroyed by lust, greed, addictions, idolatry. James doesn’t say this but I do our government is getting out of control greedy for more money for them and less and less for the command people. The people in government wants more and more power and to take over like some of the other countries have done to their people (Ezekiel 16:49-50) it’s about Sodom and Gomorrah greed, not helping the poor, this is a good read. I love the way James explains parables in the Bible it really can help you understand those parables better. This book will refresh your hearts and minds and renew your life. I recommend this book highly for anyone who loves the Lord and wants to understand and go deeper in the words of the bible. The Drawing Lesson A Graphic Novel That Teaches You How To Draw By Mark Crilley I love the cover of this cute book. The boy is enthusiastic about his drawings as he lays on the floor with his drawings all around him and a smile on his face. I am amazed at adults and children that can draw and make the picture look so real that you feel like you are right there. I really like the story of how Becky shows David how different ways to hold the pencil makes the picture look different. Becky gets a little upset with David being pushy. David learns so fast because he did ok drawings before I am not that good at drawing anything so I was hoping this book would help, I tried one picture and thought I’d try again later (it wasn’t good let me tell you). The book goes along with showing you how to draw with pencils. The book shows the way David drew a picture and what Becky found wrong with it and then Becky explaining what is wrong and why and what David should look at in order to change the way David sees the object to make him draw a better picture. The book is really interesting and will help some that already has some drawing that’s ok I am not sure it will help me but I am going to go back and try again later. I recommend this book for people that want to try and draw and see if it will really help you in learning some techniques that you never knew. I love the fact he stands by his faith, his principles and his family roots. For such a young man to stand up to station managers or even stars that are popular and sing different kinds of songs when they felt he made a mistake Scotty kept hearing God’s voice and followed and obey the voice that was more important to him the any famous person, hey for Scotty I say!! Parker The cover is kind of plain but the words caught my eyes and I knew I wanted to read this book to help me lead a better life for God not for man. These words will be an integral part of your Faith and Strength. I don’t know about you but I need to have strength every day, and I pray to God to give me the strength I need to live the Faith I want to have for God. We can’t depend on our leaders as we use to be able to. As you have seen the mess we’ve been in for the past 8 years and it is only growing worse by the day with these kinds of politician in office. They are crooked and even the FBI is proven that Clintons have one set of laws while use common people have another set of laws to live by. We need to pray and have faith that God will once again bless America and make us a great nation and put in the right President in 2017. We need God back in our country, in our schools, so this book was very important for me to read and to know how positive, powerful words for my mind, my faith to keep me uplifted and inspired to be stronger. I need strength from God to get me through this terrible mess that is taking over our country. As I read through this beautiful book I found that with extra ordinary thinking, listening and speaking God’s truth to his people that are hungry for something and searching for the truth they will no longer fall for Satan’s lies. I loved to read the “Roadside Help” about a Good Samaritan and using the gift God gave him. There’s a question: Do we have a gift we could use over and over again to help others?” Words are powerful— they can either destroy a person or build them up. Here are a few words from the 52 word list: Listen, Believe, Learn, and Persevere. Then she gives a description of the word for you. Then stories to help you think of others and how you can put into action for yourself. These are words to change your life and make you stronger in faith. I recommend this book for those who truly want to be stronger in their faith, have a positive mind set, if you know words of God you are prepared for any condition that comes along. Lee, General Editor Forward by: Penny Nance I do love the cover of this beautiful Bible, more so I love the fact that if you tear the paper cover gets ruined you are in luck because the Bible it’s self has the same pictures on the front what a nice addition!!! It’s really a neat cover I love it!! I was excited when I got home and opened the box that held this beautiful Bible. I couldn’t wait to dig into it, the first paged I opened was Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Biography what an amazing woman she was. Rose lived along life and the life she led showed the hand God hold us and God’s faith never fails. Rosa would take faith over anything even money she guard it most. President J. F. Kennedy was called the Camelot because under his leadership our nation knew peace and contentment. This Bible has so many different women that helped shape and give God grounding in our country and they were Blacks, Whites and Native American all ages some very wealthy ladies, some poor, some slaves, and some made to live on reservations (even though this was their land first). In this Bible you will see these women and the struggles they went through to change a country they loved, you’ll read in faithfulness, Hope, Truth and a lot more from quotes from other women or poems. I learned the names of a lot of these women that shaped this country and how they helped shape USA but also I found out their back ground and the struggles of a lot of them but also some of the wealthy women that gave of their money, their time and their smart way to do things. I recommend this Bible highly. I so enjoyed the addition of the women that shaped American. That they had a strong will but above all they had God on their side, you can’t go wrong if God is there with you. I received this Bible free from book look for an honest review. Maybe it’s we can’t trust Spanish, Mexicans and the whites eyes. It seems to me that through this beautifully written book you’ll soon find out the other side of the Apache History. You’ll see the History books and teachers only told one side. I feel this book tells the other side and you should know the other side and the truth!!!! I also feel that the Indians are not the savages but the rest of the people that invaded their land are the savages, read and see how you feel about the history of the Apaches. This book made me mad, made me cry, and made me ashamed of how all cultures treated the Indians, yet the Indian paid the ultimate price didn’t they? They are still paying that price. Will you look at the history of the Native American Indians different or just take the lies of all the years you were taught they were the savages. You’ll read about Geronimo, one of the greatest warriors, the captive boy that started the longest war, The Apache kid you’ll read about a lot of great Chiefs, warriors and what they went through. You’ll read about a lot of Generals in the Armies that were back behind killing the Indians wrongfully, lied and got the Indians to trust them. You’ll also see how the Spanish, Mexicans scalped the Indians and even took their ears. This book goes into great detail of the wars of the Apaches and all they truly went through. This is one of the best books I have every read on the American Indians. I recommend this book highly to anyone that truly wants to read a thorough book on the Apaches this is a book for you. I hope Paul Andrew Hutton writes a book on the Cherokee Indians another of my favorite Indians. I love the history of all the Native Indians. This journal has 52 weeks the weeks are not dated so you can star in the middle of this year and finish next year or when every you want to star and in what week you’d like to start for example: Week 22 No Words or week 26 Praying Sacrificially many more beautiful pages to journal on. There are 143 pages to write your prayers, your thoughts then at anytime you can return to this journal and reflect on what you wrote and what prayer you might have written and see if your thoughts are the same or have you grown closer to God and now your thought and prayers maybe on a different level because of your relationship with God has changed. Each reading is a Bible verse, a full explanation on how you can relate to God. The water colored pictures of plants and other is beautiful and is at the start of each section. They are called Contents: Request, Gratitude, Lament, Intercession, Faith Repentance and Awe. Just the contents made me love this journal Ok the pictures too. I have to say Zondervan did a great job on this book I love it, you will too I can say it with confidence. I recommend it highly. Radical Spirit 12 Ways To Live A Free And Authentic Life By: Joan Chittister I really had a hard time getting into this book so I truly have to tell you I didn’t read it all the way through. Sorry I thought this would be a book I could just read and ponder on but I had a hard time getting into it. It took me a long time to read very far so my review may not be the best again I am sorry for not getting further into the book. I know there are 3 segments that helped Joan she tells the segments in the introduction part of her book. Maybe you will find them helpful. As you go on the journey with Joan as she helps you find your quest for new freedom and wisdom. You’ll read of the spiritual seekers that the soul has many masters. Apostle Paul says “People are slaves to whatever masters them.” For example anger, addiction, and fear then try to break the chains to whatever it is. We know it is ongoing every day of every minute. I believed if I could have had more time I might have been able to get into it or maybe I just am not as fast at understanding as you are. Again I think it could be a good book if I just had a little more time. Enjoy it I am sure you will love it. Joan is a good author. I put the ISBN to help you find the book faster. Vibrant India Fresh Vegetarian Recipe By: Chitra Agrawal The food on the cover looks good enough to eat and the vegetables are bright and colorful. The back of the cover is just as pretty. I’m the type of person that has a hard time trying food from other countries unless I know the person cooking it. I don’t like spicy foods so no matter what country it is from I won’t eat it. This all vegetables recipes so I may be ok with this kind of foods to try at a restaurant. The shredded carrots and lentil salad looks great. There are a lot of pictures in this book that is colorful and looks good. Vegetarians would love this book. In the front of the book it has a list of recipes also tells where to buy ingredients and equipment. I am not sure if the ingredients come in bulk or if you can buy just a little to see if you like them. I love the history of her family, her city. Well if you read the Bible you see God uses the most unlikely people to help Him with His plan to glorify His name. A lot of times I don’t read the introductions to the book because I want to dig right in to the book. Really take time to read the introduction I did for whatever reason and I was so glad I did, it’s very interesting!! We all cry out we want meaning and hope in this fallen world of ours. We as Christians know we can call out to God for anything and He is there for us. Mr. Dillon tells how we can find what our soul cries out for do you want to be a doer or a talker? Some of us get scared if we go out of our comfort zone. So read this book and see how Dillon will show you “if you give you surely will gain”. The story on page 13 brought me to tears and I thanked God for helping raise my two children. In my heart I know He helped watch over my two beautiful children which are adults now. If you ask yourself how did the world get this way and why wasn’t something done, then this book is for you. See the problems and solutions through brand new eyes as Justin takes on a whole new journey in a selfish plan to change our world. I recommend this book highly.
