I got this bible because I thought I’d learn a little bit of Hebrew and Greek language unfortunately without having to travel althrough the bible to find the meaning of just one word that is underline, it wasn’t a fast find, so it wasn’t the case that I learned the languages. I was very disappointed in that reason to start with. The back of the book as Vines Complete Expository Dictionary, which seems to me they’re trying to sale you the dictionary to go along with the bible for the Hebrew and Greek language, if that’s the case if you want to learn more and go deeper into the language of Hebrew and Greek I feel taking classes would be better for you. You’ll learn more of the languages that way and maybe happier also this dictionary maybe a very good resource for you, worth checking into that as well. In this bible at the side of the scriptures in pale blue box there are scriptures to go to and look up the word that is underlined and it sends you all over the bible for example in Psalm 23 for the word comfort in Greek or Hebrew for “sorry or grieve” there are 7 different passages in the bible to go and read about that one word and the meanings, where as the dictionary should tell every meaning right by the words you are looking up makes it easier and faster. I am sure some may like to go to the different passages and read the passages which is fine too, but for me if I am reading something I’d like to get the information and meaning fast so I can continue to read what I started to read you may not mind going although the bible to read the meaning of that word and probably how it is used. This bible is still a good bible to read. It’s just not what I was expecting is all and I think that is the reason I felt the way I did about this bible. I received this bible free from booklookblogging for an honest review. I was not required to write a positive review just an honest review. The opinions I have expressed are entirely my own and no one else’s. I’d like to see someone come out with a bible that would have good scriptures to remember on a page or where to find the scripture in the bible Like the “Armor of God” or John 3:16, John 15:5 for example and then give the reason it’s a good scripture to remember. While My Child Is Away My Prayers for When We Are Apart By: Edie Melson I love the mint green color of the cover that brings relaxation before you open the book up to start reading it and praying. I look to see if the cover tells me a story of its own, yes it does it tells me of peace. What does it tell you? As parents we want all our children safe from harm, the drugs, bullies that have been coming after our children hard, ISIS killing innocent people with no care for other people’s lives. The world is getting worse and we see it with our own eyes. We want our children to walk in the path of righteousness but how can they stay on that path with so much cruel things going on in our world? Our prayers do matter and our God hears them just because he doesn’t answer the way we want him to, doesn’t mean he has left us to fight our battles alone. We have to keep praying for our children no matter what or where they are or what they are doing. Prayers are a mother’s life line to our children even when they don’t want you around because they feel they are all grown up and can handle things all by themselves. We are the anchor that we hope keeps them close to God and safe. One prayer that caught my eye was “Forgive Me for My Parental Mistakes” that hit home for me because it said the words I have been looking for to tell my children. There are all kinds of Prayers, parenting thoughts, foundation of faith. This book is only 219 pages long with all kinds of information to help you pray for your child and prayers for yourself. A core of strength: one of my favorite is “Remind me to fight on bended knees”. I’ve learned first to thank God for His love, then praise Him. God is worthy of praise all the time. I have been trying to find cold soups but again I didn’t find any cold soups in this cook book. As you’ll find out Danielle suffered from debilitating autoimmune disease so her recipes are grain-free, dairy-free, gluten-free comfort food dishes. Haley comes home to start a new life and keep a promise she and her friend Tammy made when they played in an old wedding shop when they were 10 years old, so as they left the wedding shop in the year 1996 they made a pinky promise and a dream they wanted to come true, of opening the wedding shop up once again. The Key Ideas Bible Handbook Understanding and Applying All the Main Concepts Book by Book By: Ron Rhodes This beautifully written book is great for prayer groups, life group’s women or men. This book is brimming with the applicational “big ideas” from Genesis – Revelations. This book will lighten your mind, touch your heart and brighten your soul. So as my journey started in this book – I didn’t read the first page I went right to Psalms, you ask why, well let me tell you—I love the book of Psalms it is my favorite book because it gives praise, devotion and thanksgiving to God in every book of the Psalms. At the top of each book of the Bible there are words for example the top of the first page of The Gospel it says “ Jesus, the messianic King, teacher us what we need to know about rightly relating to God, rightly relating to each other, and how to live a GOD honoring life”. Isn’t that beautiful? At the beginning of each book there are time lines, someone like Billy Graham and C. S. Lewis says something about the bible, verses to remember and references to find it in the Bible, cross- references for example If Your Brother Sins. I recommend this book highly if you want to learn more about the bible. This is definitely a book you’d want to keep by your bible they go hand in hand. The verses to remember are a great addition; we all need to remember some verses. This book has so much information to help you along with your Bible. I love to look at the covers of the books and imagine what the writer was thinking and how they come to want a certain cover for their books. Psalm 23 is by far my favorite scripture in the Bible so I always turn to that part of the Bible first. The book of Psalm is praise to God. What is your favorite book or scripture in the bible? This Bible took verse by verse and laid it out so you could understand it clearly. This brought a whole new meaning of Psalm 23 for me. WOW!!! I fell in love with the way this bible helped me understand the scriptures more clearly than ever. This bible brings life to the scriptures like never before and helps you get closer to the words that are written, you can then see the way life was back in those days and what they meant by how they spoke. I grew up on the KJ bible it was so hard from me to understand as a kid and the words were way beyond my understanding. I feel that is why a lot of kids just stopped reading the Bible or read it and still tried to understand what the heck they just read and what did it mean. Made me feel dumb as a box of rocks, I still have trouble with some of the words and names wow they are hard names or is it just me? The Cultural Backgrounds bible helps by explaining the scriptures and makes it more alive for me then the KJ. At beginning of the bible there is Table of content you’ll find maps of places, travels, Journeys, Fall of Jericho. There us information on Hebrew to English chart. You’ll be happy with this Bible by Zendervan. Beautifully written, lots of information, pictures and below every page the information clearly tells what the verses mean. The colorful pictures inside this book are unique. I was hoping they also tell if the mushrooms could be found in other states as well, but that wasn’t the case. Maybe they write another book with mushrooms around the USA that would be great. On page 254 there are mushrooms in a group called Lactarius deliciosus group. The one at the bottom is really weird looking. There are so many beautiful pictures of the mushrooms around Calif. You’ll be amazed. As you read through the book and look at the pictures of the mushrooms you’ll find that Noah and Christian wrote a description of the mushrooms. They tell of the texture and taste of the mushroom IF they are edible and where they are found like under trees and what kinds of trees or under leave or bushes or even by rivers. They give you information like edible or not edible or not known, well to me the not know means don’t eat them. The explanation they wrote for the mushrooms are very well written. For you people that live in Calif. and love mushrooms this would be a great book for you then you could go out and have a day of mushroom hunting. I recommend this book highly for anyone that is interested in mushrooms even if you don’t live in Calf. This book is very interesting and beautiful pictures of the Fungi. HAPPY READING!!!! As we travel an unforeseen journey with James that he didn’t see coming. You’ll go down a road and through cities of heartbreak, a job that was great now is in his past too, his home and all that is life to James, except his precious daughter, but is he about to lose her along with everything else that he held dear to his heart? Sometimes God deals us a hard hand because God has other plans for our lives and lessons for us to learn. Trying to do the right James is always in the wrong place at the wrong time or is he where God planed for him to be? James leaves God and won’t talk to Him or pray to Him (like most of us when things goes sour we turn from God). The road back to God can be as rough as the raging sea, we forget that God is a forgiving God we are not as forgiving as our Lord is. James journey takes us into dangerous territory with ruthless men and corrupt police. You find men from all walks of life that have no regard for human life, where money rules and keeps them in comfortable style no matter the cost of someone else’s life or dreams. As Joel and Luke brings to us a story that women are priceless and worth more to God and the world is corrupt. I love King and Country songs and listen to them on Z88.3 I love their music and now to read a powerful book by them and I find them great authors as well as singers. Each reading is a Bible verse, a full explanation on how you can relate to God. The water colored pictures of plants and other is beautiful and is at the start of each section. Sorry I thought this would be a book I could just read and ponder on but I had a hard time getting into it. I know there are 3 segments that helped Joan she tells the segments in the introduction part of her book. Maybe you will find them helpful. As you go on the journey with Joan as she helps you find your quest for new freedom and wisdom. You’ll read of the spiritual seekers that the soul has many masters. Apostle Paul says “People are slaves to whatever masters them.” For example anger, addiction, and fear then try to break the chains to whatever it is. We know it is ongoing every day of every minute. I believed if I could have had more time I might have been able to get into it or maybe I just am not as fast at understanding as you are. I’m the type of person that has a hard time trying food from other countries unless I know the person cooking it. I don’t like spicy foods so no matter what country it is from I won’t eat it. This all vegetables recipes so I may be ok with this kind of foods to try at a restaurant. The shredded carrots and lentil salad looks great. There are a lot of pictures in this book that is colorful and looks good. Vegetarians would love this book. In the front of the book it has a list of recipes also tells where to buy ingredients and equipment. I am not sure if the ingredients come in bulk or if you can buy just a little to see if you like them. I love the history of her family, her city. Well if you read the Bible you see God uses the most unlikely people to help Him with His plan to glorify His name. A lot of times I don’t read the introductions to the book because I want to dig right in to the book. Really take time to read the introduction I did for whatever reason and I was so glad I did, it’s very interesting!! We all cry out we want meaning and hope in this fallen world of ours.
