<p>If you followed a link to <code>orbit-lab.org</code>, one of its project subdomains, or the old COSMOS Trac wiki, you landed here because that site was retired on <strong>1 August 2026</strong>.</p>
<p><strong>ORBIT itself did not go away.</strong> The ORBIT testbed became part of COSMOS: its grid and sandboxes are COSMOS domains today, reachable through the same consoles and the same tooling as the rest of the testbed, and the hosts still carry their <code>*.orbit-lab.org</code> names. What was retired were the separate <em>websites</em> — a scattering of per-project pages and wikis that had accumulated over the years. Their documentation now lives here, in one place.</p>

<h2 id="a-few-specific-successors" class="toc-header"><a class="toc-anchor" href="#a-few-specific-successors">¶</a> A few specific successors</h2>
<p><strong>Experiment control.</strong> Experiments are no longer driven by OEDL scripts against the OMF experiment controller. Orchestration is now Ansible-native — see <a href="/wiki/public/tutorials" class="is-internal-link is-valid-page">Tutorials</a>. The <code>omf</code> command itself still exists on every console for imaging, power and node status.</p>
<p><strong>Package repositories.</strong> <code>packages.orbit-lab.org</code> and <code>apt.orbit-lab.org</code> have been replaced by <code>apt.cosmos-lab.org</code>, which is reachable from inside the testbed.</p>
<p><strong>Sandboxes.</strong> If you used a specific ORBIT sandbox or the grid, it is still there. Reservations and console access work the same way for every COSMOS domain — see <a href="/wiki/public/getting-started" class="is-internal-link is-valid-page">Getting started</a>.</p>

<p>If you need material from one of the retired pages — an old project page, a figure from a paper, a configuration you remember — <strong>contact testbed support</strong>. Please include the original URL if you still have it; that makes it much quicker to track down.</p>
<p>Citations and DOIs pointing at retired <code>orbit-lab.org</code> URLs will continue to resolve to this page rather than breaking.</p>
