He was taking on an identity -a “bad son”- that was false, so I had to correct him.
I replied, “You are not a bad son. You made a bad choice. There is a difference.”
IDENTITY WORK

We learn this truth from God when he talks to Moses in Moses Chapter 1. God first tells us who He is (v3: “I am the Lord God Almighty…”) and then He tells Moses who he is (v4: “thou art my son”)
The pattern of parenting is tell them who they are before you ever tell them what to do.
And tell them enough times that when Satan comes, they can reply like Moses: “Get thee hence Satan; deceive me not; for God [and my mom] said unto me: Thou art after the similitude of mine Only Begotten…”
