Mais est-ce vraiment le bon moment pour revenir vers les mutants ?
Dans cette nouvelle vidéo, je feuillette et donne mon avis sur ce premier numéro, qui mélange plusieurs séries déjà installées et de nouvelles mini-séries : X-Men, la série de Gail Simone, Wolverine, Inglorious X-Force, Rogue ainsi que Magik and Colossus. Cyclope est de retour, le Fauve cache quelques surprises et Cable reforme une X-Force particulièrement improbable. Malicia part quant à elle à la recherche de son passé tandis que Magie retrouve son frère Colossus.
Sur le papier, ce nouveau départ avait donc de quoi m'intéresser. D'autant plus que certains auteurs et artistes me donnaient envie d'y croire. Dans les faits… c'est plus compliqué.
Est-ce un véritable nouveau départ ? Peut-on commencer les X-Men avec ce numéro ? Quelles séries valent le détour ? Et surtout, Marvel réussit-il enfin à redonner aux mutants le souffle qui leur manque depuis plusieurs années ?
Je vous montre les épisodes, je vous donne mon avis et j'essaie de déterminer si X-Men: Shadows of Tomorrow mérite ses 16 €.

Beaucoup de choses, comme allait le démontrer Ann Nocenti, accompagnée notamment par John Romita Jr.
Dans cette nouvelle émission, je retourne sur une période de Daredevil que j’ai découverte à l’époque des publications françaises et qui conserve aujourd’hui une saveur très particulière.
Ann Nocenti ne cherche pas simplement à reproduire le polar urbain de Frank Miller. Son Daredevil parle aussi de justice, d’écologie, de menace nucléaire, de corruption, de pouvoir politique et de défense des minorités. Des préoccupations très présentes dans les comics américains des années 1980 et qui donnent à ces épisodes une personnalité étonnante.
On y retrouve également Bullet, Ammo, Foggy Nelson, Karen Page, la Veuve Noire et même les conséquences de Fall of the Mutants, avec une attaque qui transforme momentanément New York en véritable décor post-apocalyptique.
Et graphiquement, John Romita Jr. commence à installer certaines des caractéristiques qui vont rendre son travail immédiatement reconnaissable : puissance des silhouettes, décors urbains, ombres, textures et combats particulièrement physiques. La vidéo revient longuement sur cette dimension visuelle.
Alors, cette période mérite-t-elle de rejoindre les grands classiques de Daredevil ? Est-elle encore aussi efficace près de quarante ans plus tard ?

Plusieurs décennies après leurs célèbres rencontres, les deux icônes de DC Comics et Marvel se retrouvent dans un nouveau crossover disponible chez Urban Comics. Et pour l'occasion, l'éditeur français propose un coffret que je vous présente en détail dans cette vidéo.
Que contient réellement ce coffret Superman / Spider-Man ? Que vaut la rencontre entre les deux super-héros ? Le crossover est-il à la hauteur de l'événement ? Et surtout, à quel type de lecteur s'adresse cet album ?
Je feuillette avec vous l'ouvrage, son histoire principale et ses nombreux récits complémentaires. Superman et Spider-Man doivent notamment affronter des adversaires issus de leurs univers respectifs, avec une idée assez amusante : chacun va devoir se mesurer à un ennemi qu'il connaît beaucoup moins.
Le reste de l'album multiplie les rencontres improbables : Lois Lane et Mary Jane, différentes générations de héros, Jimmy Olsen, Carnage, Jonathan Kent et Ben Parker ou encore Power Girl et le Punisher. Des concepts parfois excellents sur le papier… mais dont la réussite s'avère très inégale, notamment à cause de leur format extrêmement court.
Au final, Superman / Spider-Man apparaît surtout comme une excellente porte d'entrée dans les comics pour les lecteurs qui connaissent les personnages grâce aux films, séries ou dessins animés. Les lecteurs vétérans profiteront du spectacle et des références, mais risquent de rester davantage sur leur faim.
