<h2>Software Freedom Day</h2>
<p><img class="align-left" alt="" src="images/services/sfd.png" />Every year, UnPLUG joins the world in celebrating Software Freedom Day by partnering
with other local FOSS groups in holding seminars and conducting trainings. Since 2011, UnPLUG shifts its target audience to high school students
to help them know FOSS at such an early age.</p>

<h2>InFLux + Linux Day</h2>
<p><img class="align-left" alt="" src="images/services/influx.png" />Every start of the academic year, UnPLUG sets up an Introduction to FOSS and Linux
(InFLux) booth to raise FOSS awareness among the students especially the freshmen. By visiting the booth, one can request to burn a distro, play FOSS games,
etc. This is repeated when Linux Day comes.</p>

<h2>Halalan</h2>
<p><img class="align-left" alt="" src="images/services/halalan.png" />UnPLUG's foremost software project, Halalan has been used in various student elections
in UP and elsewhere. As a commitment to UP, UnPLUG serves as the technical team every student elections, providing support whenever problems are encountered
with regards to Halalan.</p>

<h2>CWS Training</h2>
<p><img class="align-left" alt="" src="images/services/cws.png" />In partnership with UP Center for Women's Studies (CWS), UnPLUG conducts Computer Literacy Training
and Web Development Training for the UP community. These are done at the CWS computer laboratory with PCs running Linux Mint.</p>

<h2>foss.upd.edu.ph</h2>
<p><img class="align-left" alt="" src="images/services/foss.upd.png" />In partnership with UP Computer Center (UPCC), UnPLUG maintains a repository of
Free and Open Source Software available exclusively within the Diliman Network (DilNet). This provides DilNet users a faster way of downloadng distros
and other FOSS applications.</p>

<h2>Knowledge Sharing</h2>
<p><img class="align-left" alt="" src="images/services/kss.png" />Since the inception of UnPLUG, sharing of knowledge has been one of its activities.
From Linux to LaTeX to programming languages to many more, UnPLUG's Knowledge Sharing Session (KSS) has always been helpful to members and non-members alike.</p>

<h2>Monthly Meeting</h2>
<p><img class="align-left" alt="" src="images/services/mgm.png" />Every month, UnPLUG holds its general meeting called Monthly General Meeting (MGM).
It has two variations. One is called MGM F2F which is done face-to-face, the other is called MGM OL which is done online using Google Docs.
Most of the time, pizzas are served during MGM F2F.</p>

<h2>Christmas Party</h2>
<p><img class="align-left" alt="" src="images/services/xmas.png" />Pa Pe Pi ritual, Yakult-drinking, Gerry's Grill, cheese overloaded peachy peachy,
n rounds of pizza, gaming, bidding, and raffle with bash tambiolo are only a few of the many interesting things that can be found in
UnPLUG's Christmas Party.</p>

<p><img class="align-left" alt="" src="images/services/others.png" />Linux training for UP staff, big FOSS seminars for all types of audience,
other software projects like the automation of ACLE, internal projects for the benefits of its members,
UnPLUG holds activities whenever it sees the need for them.</p>

<p class="intro">The University of the Philippines Linux Users’ Group (UnPLUG) is a duly recognized student organization
dedicated in promoting the use of Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) and
in advocating FOSS philosophy through seminars, trainings, software development, and other activities.</p>
<h2>Profile</h2>
<p>The idea of openly sharing software source codes, knowledge, and ideas to the people that need them is an antithesis,
and a natural opponent, to the current trend of big software companies to horde and hide the code, therefore monopolizing
the software market, and making the public believe that software solutions could only come from one source, and could only
come at a high price. This reflects that aside from the technical aspects of computers, computer-related technologies and
software development, UnPLUG also concerns itself with the political, economic, and social issues, such as digital imperialism
and monopoly, the FOSS movement, and the benefits that computers and automation would bring to the people.

Despite its geek nature, UnPLUG welcomes students who have the passion and dedication to provide service to the University and
to the Filipino people.</p>
<h2>History</h2>
<p>It was a relaxing Sunday morning on July 20, 2003 when nine students met with the former UP President, Francisco Nemenzo Jr.,
at the Executive House for a seminar. Discussion revolved around Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) and on how to bridge the
digital divide. One of the solutions formulated was to form a student group advocating FOSS to penetrate the student and youth sector.
Thus, the University of the Philippines Linux Users’ Group (UnPLUG) was born.

The nine students, namely Diwa del Mundo, Paolo Jerome Aromin, Eric John Arnaldo, Dean Michael Ancajas, Waldemar Bautista,
Pio Ryan Lumongsod, Ardee Aram, Kyle Alaine Domingo, and Karl Redrick Santos, wasted no time in recruiting more members and in
fulfilling the requirements for the recognition of the organization by the university. Despite the trouble of losing important
documents on the day of the deadline, UnPLUG still somehow managed to be recognized.

After its recognition, UnPLUG began its journey to promote the use of FOSS and to advocate its philosophy through
seminars, trainings, and software development, for the service of the University and the Filipino people.</p>
